Jignesh Patel

Jignesh Patel is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. He holds a medical degree from St. George’s University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Stony Brook. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine.12

Dr. Patel's research primarily focuses on improving outcomes in cardiac arrest scenarios. His significant contributions include studies on oxygenation during cardiac arrest, which have been referenced in key guidelines such as the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and the 2021 European Resuscitation Council Guidelines. He has published extensively in reputable journals like Resuscitation and Chest, and he is involved in various research initiatives, including a notable study on inhaled nitric oxide for adults experiencing in-hospital cardiac arrest.12

In addition to his research, Dr. Patel is actively engaged in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine. He has also participated in several prestigious programs, including an NIH K30 Clinical Research Fellowship and the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program.13
