Jigar Mehta is a Media Innovation Strategist, Entrepreneur, Design Thinker, Video Journalist, Documentary Filmmaker, and Storyteller. Currently, at Doha Debates, he aims to inspire and unite generations to address global challenges through constructive dialogue.
Jigar has a rich history of leading digital strategy at Fusion, focusing on audience development, data, social, and digital originals. He played a pivotal role in establishing AJ+, a digital-first product from Al Jazeera Media Network, fostering a global conversation on crucial topics.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jigar fosters creative collaboration between media entrepreneurs and institutions. As a founding team member at Matter Ventures, he supported entrepreneurs striving to build a more informed and empowered society.
He co-created '18 Days in Egypt,' a transmedia storytelling project documenting the Egyptian Revolution with support from Tribeca Film Institute and the Sundance Institute. Jigar's accolades include being a Knight Journalism Fellow, a video journalist at The New York Times, and serving as a board member and president of the South Asian Journalists Association.
Jigar Mehta, who holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MJ in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, also pursued the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University.
