Jesus Chavez

Jesus Chavez is an accomplished professional who started his journey at Centro Legal de la Raza as a Communications Manager and gradually rose to the position of Director of Development by December 2022.

During his tenure, Jesus has demonstrated his multifaceted skills as a development expert, successfully raising millions in funding to support the organization. He excels in project management, overseeing the creation of impactful annual and impact reports.

His contribution also extends to planning and executing various fundraising events, including high-profile galas, board cocktail receptions, and large-scale initiatives like the DC Latinx pride party aimed at supporting the LGBT community.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley, Jesus combines his academic background with a passion for social justice inherited from his hard-working immigrant parents. His activism for immigrant and LGBTQ rights defines his commitment to fighting for equality and justice.

Presently, Jesus remains dedicated to his advocacy for social justice at Centro Legal de la Raza, where he takes pride in serving the community and championing noble causes.
