Jessie Evans
Africa Program Lead at Institute for Security Governance
Jessie Evans holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and a degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College.
With a rich professional background, Jessie has served in various capacities with remarkable organizations. Currently, Jessie is the Africa Regional Program Lead and Advisory Faculty at the U.S. Department of Defense at the Institute for Security Governance. Previously, Jessie engaged in International Consulting as a self-employed professional and also contributed as a Security Sector Reform Advisor at the U.S. Mission to Somalia under the U.S. Department of State, supported by CRC, LLC.
Jessie Evans has also been a part of the U.S. Department of State as the Senior Conflict Advisor in the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations (CSO) and as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in the Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization. Furthermore, Jessie served as the Sudan and East Africa Desk Officer at the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
Adding to the diverse portfolio, Jessie was the leading fundraiser for the Inaugural Adventurist Africa Rally at The Adventurists. Before that, Jessie worked as a Program Assistant at the Harvard School of Public Health and as a West Africa Desk Intern at the United Nations OCHA. Jessie's passion for democracy and rule of law led to a role as a Research Assistant (Intern) in the Democracy and Rule of Law Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Drawing upon past experiences, Jessie has also contributed as a Leadership Coach at TRI Leadership and as a Resident Advisor at Occidental College.
