Jessica Poon

Jessica Poon is an organizational scientist specializing in healthcare quality. She completed her PhD at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2015 to June 2019.12 During her time as a PhD student, Jessica focused on studying the quality of care resulting from multilevel organizational interventions, ranging from system organization to team-based care and patient engagement.1

Currently, Jessica holds the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at Kaiser Permanente, where she has been working since July 2019.13 In this role, she investigates the relationships between patient care experiences, well-being, and health services utilization to support quality measurement and improvement under value-based payment policies.1

Prior to her doctoral studies, Jessica worked as a Data Analyst at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center from June 2012 to June 2015.1 Her responsibilities there included leading a team to design and implement an internal quality assurance dashboard for the Department of Surgery and collaborating with surgical staff to support medical decision-making through statistical analyses.1

Jessica's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Biology and Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley, which she completed between 2006 and 2011.1 Her undergraduate studies focused on cooperative social organization from both biological and philosophical perspectives.1
