Jessica Clegg

Jessica Clegg is a professional in the renewable energy sector who has worked as a Commercial Solar Technical Analyst at GRID Alternatives from August 2020 to May 2022.2 Prior to this role, she served as a SolarCorps Multifamily Project Fellow at the same organization.

Clegg is passionate about environmental justice and climate action. She participated in a Climate Ride challenge, completing a 100-mile bike ride from Berkeley, CA to Point Reyes Station, CA and back to raise funds for GRID Alternatives.1 She chose to support GRID Alternatives because of their work as the nation's largest non-profit solar installer dedicated to protecting the environment and communities at the frontline of climate change.1

During her time at GRID Alternatives, Clegg gained insights into the organization's multifaceted approach to environmental and social issues. She highlighted GRID's efforts in providing free solar systems to marginalized communities, advocating for inclusive environmental policies, implementing equal employment programs, and working with tribes on energy sovereignty goals.1

Clegg holds a strong belief that environmentalism must prioritize communities experiencing the most harm from climate change. She views climate justice as inextricably linked to social justice and racial equity.1
