Jessica Boyle is a dedicated individual with a passion for leveraging education as a tool for social mobility and exploring the intersection of big data and social policy. Her journey as an unaccompanied homeless youth and a first-generation college student has deeply influenced her academic and professional pursuits.
Currently pursuing her PhD in education policy at Stanford University, Jessica is actively involved in the Educational Opportunity Project under the mentorship of Sean Reardon. She also holds a fellowship at the Center for Education Policy Analysis. Her research interests focus on understanding and addressing the connection between socioeconomic status and educational outcomes, particularly within the context of city government initiatives.
Throughout her academic journey, Jessica has honed her skills and knowledge. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) at Colby College and furthered her education with an Ed.M. from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Her academic foundation was laid at Bangor High School, where she excelled before pursuing higher education.
Jessica's professional experiences are diverse and rich. She has served in key roles at various prestigious institutions. Previously, she worked as a Research & Communications Manager at Harvard University's Education Redesign Lab, focusing on educational initiatives. Her role as a Diversity Program Manager at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health allowed her to engage in issues at the intersection of education and public health.
Jessica also contributed her expertise as a Development Coordinator at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and as an Education Consultant in a freelance capacity. Her leadership skills were evident during her tenure as a Program Director at the Alfond Youth Center and as an Assistant Director & Program Founder at Colby College.
Moreover, Jessica's commitment to education was highlighted through her role as a Writing Tutor at Colby College, where she supported students in their academic endeavors. Her extensive academic background, coupled with her hands-on experience in various organizations, positions her as a versatile and knowledgeable professional in the field of education policy and analysis.
