    Jerome Engel is a prominent figure in entrepreneurship education, venture capital, corporate innovation, and regional economic development. With extensive experience in Silicon Valley, Engel co-founded the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of California, Berkeley in 1991. He is an adjunct professor at the Haas School of Business, teaching MBA and Executive Education programs focusing on Entrepreneurship, New Venture Finance, Corporate Innovation, and Venture Capital.

    As the co-founder and General Partner of Monitor Ventures, a venture capital firm, Engel is actively involved in investing in early-stage technology ventures and serves on the Boards of Directors of various high-potential venture capital-backed and privately held firms. Before his academic roles, he held strategic positions such as Managing Partner of Entrepreneurial Services at EY in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Engel's research and publications concentrate on innovation processes within firms, communities, and global networks, culminating in his book 'Global Clusters of Innovation.' He is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a recipient of the NCIIA ‐ Olympus Corporation Lifetime of Educational Innovation Award.
