Jeremy Heer

Jeremy J. Heer, CFA, CAIA is currently the Managing Director of Investment Research & Engagement at the University of Illinois Foundation.14 In this role, he advances learning, research, and engagement activities within the Investment Office, supporting the Foundation's thesis-driven and outbound sourcing efforts.12

Previously, Jeremy was the senior portfolio manager for the strategy group at the University of Chicago.1 He has also held investment management roles at Singer Partners, UBS Global Asset Management, and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.14

Jeremy earned an MBA with concentrations in finance and statistics from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a BS in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.1 He is both a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.15

Jeremy is actively involved in professional organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of CFA Society Chicago, currently as the Vice Chair.23 He is also a grader for the CFA exam and a contributor to the curriculum.1

Outside of his professional life, Jeremy has been married for nearly 30 years and has three children. He enjoys playing golf and ice hockey, and is an avid musician and singer. He has also performed in many community theater productions.4
