Jeremiah Thoronka

Jeremiah Thoronka is an experienced renewable energy entrepreneur and scholar with a background in writing, entrepreneurship, and innovative energy solutions. His venture, Optim Energy, focuses on harnessing energy from natural sources to provide clean and affordable power in his community, addressing issues like air pollution and respiratory problems from traditional energy sources. Jeremiah has volunteered with Renewables in Africa and Business Today, contributing articles on climate change, policy development, and renewable financing, honing his project management and research skills. Recognized for his leadership, he has been named a Global Teen Leader, Theirworld Ambassador, UN Academic Impact and Millennium Fellow, and more. Jeremiah has presented research papers and organized workshops at various international youth forums and conferences, advocating for sustainable energy practices. He has received training in energy regulation, climate change, and monitoring and evaluation. His passion lies in renewables, energy efficiency, climate change, youth engagement, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as he works towards improving energy access in Africa. Currently pursuing a BA Hons degree in Global Challenges at the African Leadership University, Jeremiah specializes in energy, climate change, and conservation.
