Jenny Scanlin is the Chief Strategic Development Officer at the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), a position she has held since February 2018.1 With over three decades of experience in the public sector, Scanlin has focused on addressing issues of housing and economic deficiencies in low-income neighborhoods.1
In her current role, Scanlin oversees the Bureau for Strategic Development, which includes the Real Estate Development and Asset Management Departments, HACLA's non-profit partner Kid's Progress Inc, and the agency's Community Engagement and Strategic Initiatives units.1 Her work aims to provide affordable housing and address issues of homelessness, poverty, quality of life, and sustainability.1

Scanlin is also the President of Build Hope Inc., a nonprofit affiliated with HACLA, since January 2018.1 She holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Social Welfare from UC Berkeley (1990-1994).1
