Managing Director, New York Ventures at Empire State Development
Jennifer Tegan is the Managing Director of New York Ventures at Empire State Development, a position she has held since April 2020.12 In this role, she oversees and leads the activities of the NYS Innovation Venture Capital Fund, which is New York's $100M venture investment fund, along with several other fund programs.2
New York Ventures, under Tegan's leadership, invests in diverse entrepreneurs and high-growth companies with the goal of building and maintaining a robust startup ecosystem across New York State.2 The organization is actively deploying over $300 million of capital through equity programs for both direct and indirect investment.3
Tegan's work involves supporting high-growth companies and their partners to use technology to solve important challenges in areas of strategic interest and importance.3 She actively seeks to provide greater access to venture capital for regions, industries, and individuals, including women and minority entrepreneurs and fund managers.3
As of January 2025, Tegan continues to be involved in various entrepreneurial and investment activities. She recently participated as a judge in entrepreneurial events and continues to represent Empire State Development and New York Ventures in such capacities.45
