Jennifer Scripps
Jennifer Scripps is no longer the Director of the Office of Cultural Affairs at the City of Dallas. She is currently the President and CEO of Downtown Dallas, Inc., a position she assumed in April 2022.23 Prior to this role, Scripps served as the Director of the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture from 2016 to 2022.24
During her tenure as Director of Arts and Culture, Scripps:
- Managed a budget of over $22 million
- Oversaw 19 cultural facilities
- Supervised grant programs supporting more than 200 arts organizations and artists
- Guided the department through the pandemic, securing over $4 million in federal funds
- Developed the 2018 Dallas Cultural Plan
- Expanded Dallas Arts Week to Dallas Arts Month
- Secured a $10 million gift to establish the Moody Fund for the Arts23
Scripps is a Dallas native and graduated from Ursuline Academy of Dallas in 1995. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.2
Before her role with the City of Dallas, Scripps worked with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, where she was involved in the design, construction, fundraising, and management of the museum.12
