Jennifer Newman is a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in involving young people and families in paediatric health research.
She started her journey in 2005 as a Consumer Liaison Officer for the Medicines for Children Research Network, focusing on developing strategies to engage children, young people, parents, and carers in research.
Jennifer set up and supported GenerationR, a National Young Persons' Advisory Group, offering a platform for hundreds of young individuals to contribute to research design and delivery.
Her efforts have extended globally through initiatives like the International Children's Advisory Network (iCAN) and the European Young Person's Advisory Group Network (eYPAGnet).
Currently, Jennifer serves as a senior patient and public involvement lead at the University of Liverpool, where she collaborates on projects involving children, young people, and families in health research in the UK and internationally.
In March 2020, she secured a fellowship to pursue a PhD in child health, showcasing her commitment to advancing the field.
Furthermore, Jennifer runs her consultancy company, providing valuable guidance to clients in the health, education, and youth work sectors.
Her educational background includes a Distinction in an Access Course from Liverpool Hope University, a Doctor of Philosophy in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Liverpool, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women's Studies from Liverpool John Moores University.
