Jennifer Mills is a human resources professional with extensive experience in employee relations, compensation and benefits, policy design and administration, employee and labor law, harassment/EEO issues, and unemployment representation. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an HR Management Certificate and PHR/SPHR Prep Course from Kennesaw State University. Jennifer is SPHR certified and has held positions at various companies including INVISTA, Insight Global, Inc., UPS, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, DENSO, and Rohm and Haas, where she served as a human resources intern.
Currently, Jennifer is the Director of Human Resources at the Diocese of Knoxville. In this role, she provides HR support for the parishes, Catholic schools, and Catholic charities of East Tennessee. Jennifer promotes positive employee relations, high morale, teamwork, and accountability in the work environment, and facilitates dispute resolution. Additionally, she provides coaching, training, and consultation in all areas of human resources, including employment law and regulatory agency requirements, to diocesan leadership, clergy, religious, and lay employees.
Jennifer's expertise in human resources has equipped her with the ability to interpret HR policies, procedures, forms, and materials for diocesan offices, parishes, and schools. She administers employee benefits like workers' compensation, 403(b) retirement, and insurance plans, and recruits, interviews, and tests applicants as well as hires and processes new hire paperwork for all employees of diocesan administrative offices and Catholic Charities.
