Jenni Vartiainen, PhD, is a renowned researcher and university lecturer with expertise in science education. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degrees in Chemistry Teacher Education from the University of Helsinki. Dr. Vartiainen's academic career began with research on kindergarten and pre-school science education, where she worked as a coordinator. Over the years, she has held various positions at the University of Helsinki, including post-doc researcher, project manager, and coordinator of Science Education Centre LUMA. As a university lecturer at Tampere University, she focuses on science education at all levels of education, with an emphasis on early childhood science education and play-based approaches to STEAM education. Dr. Vartiainen is also a founder of Kide Science, a play-based science education concept designed for teachers worldwide.
