Jeffrey Szuchman
Deputy Director, Office of Democracy, Rights and Governance at USAID Liberia
Dr. Jeffrey Szuchman is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background. He holds a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures and an MA in the same field, both from the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, he obtained a BA in Anthropology, Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University.
Dr. Szuchman has held significant roles in various organizations, showcasing his expertise in policy, planning, and governance. He served as the Deputy Director in the Office of Democracy, Rights, and Governance at USAID Liberia. Previously, he was the Acting Director and Deputy Director in the Office of Policy within the Bureau for Policy, Planning, and Learning at USAID. Before that, he worked as a Senior Policy Analyst and acted as the Acting Deputy Director in the same office. Dr. Szuchman also contributed his skills as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the Office of Policy at USAID.
Apart from his extensive work in policy, Dr. Szuchman has academic experience as well. He was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Zayed University. Prior to that, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago.
