Jeff Stoltman
Director, Ilitch School Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programs & Associate Professor of Marketing
Jeffrey Stoltman is the Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programs at the Mike Ilitch School of Business, Wayne State University, a position he has held since the program's inception in 2016. He is also an Associate Professor of Marketing at the university, where he has been a faculty member since 1988, following previous teaching roles at the University of Nebraska and Syracuse University.
Academic and Professional Background
Stoltman has played a significant role in developing the curriculum for the MBA Concentration and Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. His leadership extends to serving on the Wayne State University Administrative Patent Committee since 2012 and providing advisory support to the Office of Technology Commercialization since 2001.
He has held various administrative roles, including Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs (2008-2011) and Vice President for Marketing and Communication (1997-2001, 2006-2007). His teaching focuses on new venture marketing, customer research, marketing strategy, and retailing.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Stoltman is an active consultant, having collaborated with over 150 organizations on strategy development, market analysis, and product development, among other areas. He has also contributed to the Detroit entrepreneurial ecosystem and is a board member of the Build Institute.12
