Jeffrey Chan
Associate Professor in Machine Learning
Jeffrey Chan, an experienced senior lecturer in the field of Computer Science, specializes in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at RMIT University. He has extensive knowledge and experience in Social Media/Network Analysis, Recommendation, integrated Optimisation-Machine Learning, and applying Machine Learning to problems related to relational data, social media and networks, spatial-temporal data, and network security. Jeffrey has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne, where he also worked as a PhD Candidate and Tutor.
Prior to joining RMIT, Jeffrey held several academic positions, including Honorary Fellow at The University of Melbourne, Lecturer at RMIT University, and Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne. He was also a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher & Adjunct Lecturer at Digital Enterprise Research Institute, NUI Galway, and a Research Intern at National Institute of Informatics. Before entering academia, Jeffrey worked as a Software Developer at Univex Pty Ltd and IT Assistant at Thai Shing Products.
As an academic, Jeffrey is passionate about designing new machine learning algorithms and collaborating with industry partners to develop practical solutions. He frequently lectures and supervises students in his field of expertise. He has a wide range of knowledge and experience that makes him an exceptional asset to this industry.
