As Intuit’s Director, ESG Strategy & Reporting, I’m responsible for shaping the evolution of Intuit’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. I reach across the company’s global operations to influence and drive alignment among senior stakeholders and build partnerships with business leaders to ensure that Intuit complies with current and future reporting requirements. I drive a cross-functional community of leaders responsible for ESG policies, strategy, and programs to elevate Intuit’s position as an industry ESG leader. I curate data and disclosures culminating in the publication of the annual Corporate Responsibility report and ESG content for other SEC filings. I engage, advise and inform key stakeholders about the company’s ESG plan, programs and progress - including investors, raters and rankers.

Director, ESG Strategy & Reporting

As Adjunct Professor, I curate and deliver course content designed to help students define the strategic questions/issue, analyze the context, and develop strategies for any organization, including either overall organizational strategy or sustainability strategy, and become proactive and more holistic strategic-thinkers. I introduce a diverse set of classic strategic frameworks and new emergent tools to analyze, develop, and implement effective strategies, uses various concepts and thought experiments that define strategy as an integrated set of choices that position the business/organization in its complex contextual environmental social systems. I provide conceptual tools and practical methodologies for catalyzing organizational transformation based on a strategic, systemic, and sustainable appreciation of change. As a required class in a robust MBA curriculum, the course integrates traditional business concepts with sustainability as a platform for creativity, innovation, and competitive advantage for both new and established organizations. During the course, I mentor teams through the process of sustainable strategy development and innovation for their assigned organizations (Experiential Learning partners ranging from NGOs, start-ups to mid-size organizations).

Hired as the first CR leader. Executed award winning environmental, social and governance strategies, as chair of the company’s ESG Steering Committee. Engaged employees and enhanced brand while improving ESG performance and profile. 
- ESG Strategy and Engagement. Developed and executed approach to ESG, with executives and critical stakeholders, including cross-functional work groups that tied core projects to ESG outcomes. Contributed ESG content to SEC disclosures, investor briefings and RFPs.
- ESG Ratings and Rankings. Monitored and engaged in 3rd party platforms and rater surveys to increase transparency and performance as measured by MSCI (improved 4 steps from B to AA), ISS (from D+ to C+; achieved “Prime” status and highest E&S Quality Scores), Sustainalytics (from medium to low risk; achieved “Industry Top Rated” for 3 yrs.), S&P Global CSA (from 50th industry percentile to 93rd), CSRHub (from 35th industry percentile to 88th), CDP (from F to A).
- Communications. Produced annual ESG Report aligned to industry frameworks and standards (GRI, SASB, Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics). Led cross-functional teams to develop content for ongoing social media amplification and ESG advocacy. Enhanced website content and executed recurring internal communications that informed and engaged employees.
- Environmental Sustainability & Social Impact. Conceived and launched climate action initiatives including use of renewable energy and verified science-based emission targets. Led philanthropic programs that facilitated annual investments of $3-5M in charitable giving. Engaged >35% of global workforce to give and volunteer (~$1.2M in donations, ~10K vol. hrs.). Led efforts to create and scale cybersecurity education programs reaching over 3M individuals.

Sr. Director, Global Corporate Responsibility

Mentor current MBA & MPA graduate students in the sustainability coursework at Presidio Graduate School. Principles of Sustainable Management (POSUM) aims to reinforce the essential foundation of critical capacities for self-reflection and action necessary to understand social and environmental sustainability challenges facing leaders in today's world. Course concepts include the history of sustainability, major frameworks, systems thinking, social justice, public-private partnerships and leadership.

Teaching Assistant, Principles of Sustainable Management

Executed a strategic Corporate Responsibility (CR) portfolio across Brocade’s value-chain. Key milestones included:
- CR Roadmap & Council. Assessed and conceived a multi-year CR Roadmap, led a cross-function team of leaders and SMEs.  
- Philanthropy & Community Involvement. Scaled a charitable contributions strategy to drive $1M+ in community benefit while increasing employee volunteerism 175% and charitable giving 250%.
- Diversity & Inclusion. Championed cross-functional efforts that increased ethnic and gender diversity in 8 classifications, grew employee resource groups 5X and fostered greater awareness, understanding and empathy.
 Environmental Sustainability. Collaborated with SMEs to develop a sustainability strategy and engagement with the Carbon Disclosure Project. Served as an executive sponsor of Green Team.
- Government Affairs. Developed a Federal advocacy strategy to influence policy and congressional legislation.  Engaged with members of Congress in Washington D.C. and hosted Federal, State and Local officials at corporate headquarters.
- Supplier Compliance. Conceived and implemented a Supplier Responsibility strategy resulting in membership in the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and adoption of the EICC Code of Conduct. Produced quarterly communications and annual Conflict Minerals reporting. Negotiated successful outcomes balancing customer expectations with corporate practices and supplier activities.  
- Employee & Executive Communications. Partnered with CEO and Executive team to author and publish key communication materials, company-wide announcements and All Hands meetings. Lead strategic communications for 13-month acquisition by Broadcom, and 8 related divestitures, including authoring weekly updates from the CEO. 
- Corporate Wellness. Executive sponsor for wellness program that regularly engaged >50% of global employees in healthy behaviors creating a culture of well-being.

Vice President Government, Community & Corporate Affairs

Orchestrated broad employee engagement initiatives that increased volunteerism and scaled employee giving across global sites; executed communication strategies to expand CSR brand. Managed annual Hunger Campaign delivering $1M to regional food banks; Led recurring volunteer projects resulting in a 150% increase in events and 44% increase in volunteers. Collaborated with key internal stakeholders in sustainability, corporate affairs, human resources and the Applied Materials Foundation to produce annual Citizenship Report.

Global Community Affairs Manager

Partnered with executives in Fortune 500 and venture-backed enterprises to develop and implement programs that integrated corporate responsibility strategies into business culture. Consulted with cross functional leaders to ensure philanthropic and employee involvement initiatives were leveraged to achieve maximum corporate benefit and social  impact. Grew member network 260% through marketing and client services resulting in increased revenue to the organization, expanded brand awareness and greater  community benefit.

Reported to the CEO and responsible for HR and Facilities. Conceived and drove programs that aligned values, culture and goals. Managed a $3M budget and staff of 7. Developed and launched the CSR brand for Wyse, authored corporate giving collateral, conducted monthly meetings, and coordinated volunteer activities. Initiated a global Leadership Council and championed a 360 Development Program that increased organizational effectiveness and enriched core competencies of leaders.
