Instructor in the Business Department teaching a variety of Real Estate courses including Principles, Practice, Finance, and Economics, in both a classroom and online format. The Community College environment attracts a particularly diverse student body, including those just graduated from high school seeking a knowledge base and career trajectory, to the returning student aiming to change careers or become more competitive in this changing economic environment.

Instructor for a variety of business subjects, including: Small Business Management, Selling Dynamics, Retailing, Introduction to Business, and Real Estate Practice. This has been an incredibly rewarding pursuit for me, in using my experience to share with students the dynamics of business and economics, how it applies to the headlines they read and their own lives, and how they might position themselves for a successful career in business.

I presented weekly training topics for Lyon Real Estate Agents and offer mentoring support for the new agents as they begin to provide "best practices" service to their clients. I worked from a 22-module training manual, adjusting them to current standards, and writing another 12 chapters for the Lyon Corporate Program. In 2012 I was asked to rewrite the Lyon Mentor Training Handbook with one other colleague, which we did, adding the additional 12 chapters I'd prepared as Mentor in my office.

Tasked with either dropping the Realtor Expo or improving it, we chose the latter. I offered a new vision and changed the culture of the decision-making committee to a "think big" and "can do" atmosphere. Originally we aimed for 500 participants (up from 275), then as we gained design momentum and the support of 35 other Realtor Associations, we adjusted our sights (against other's "better" judgement) for over 750 participants. Things were looking good, and we provided a the largest one-day real estate EXPO in the West for over 1,000 agents.

Rock climbing instruction and guiding - indoor at "The Well" at CSUS, and outdoor in the Sierras. Beginning classes, reviewing perfomance gear,safety procedures, belay and rappel, and climbing technique. Responsible for multiple assistant guides and client groups from 4 - 12 participants.

Developed and presented a variety of training modules for Lyon Agents in the Sales Skills Training Program at Lyon University and at the FRED Convention (Fun Real Estate Training Day). Subjects taught include: Negotiation Skills, Handling Objections, and Strategic Business Planning for Realtors.

Real Estate Consultant for residential real estate in the Sacramento Metropolitan Area. I work with sellers and buyers, investment properties, and distressed properties (short sales and foreclosures). I have developed a "Best Practices" process for my clients, along with earning a variety of special trainings and certifications (Certified Negotiation Expert, Certified Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource, Certified Zip Forms Trainer, etc.). I am constantly improving my skills and knowledge base, and take the customer service role very seriously.

Real Estate Consultant

Responsibility for review and oversight of SAR budget, including analysis of recommendations presented for budgetary consideration, as well as making recommendations for budget improvements.

Budget Committee Member

Chairperson of this committee which provides educational classes for the professional Realtor membership of SAR. We reviewed course content, instructors, and select relevant courses to be taught at SAR. Through specifically targeted course offerings, changes in the curriculum, and more strategic marketing, we increased attendance by over 70%.

* Sales management, strategic planning, supply chain, organizational planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the launch and accelerated distribution of Brita Water Filters in the Western US.

* Developed a Western Region Sales Team of District Managers, Channel Managers, and Sales Reps and Brokers to build a $50MM sales region.

* Partnered with major retailers such as Costco, Macy's, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Sears, and many others to add growth for Brita and profitable and growing sales for our retail customers.
