Board Member, Advisor and Investor in Technology Companies
Jeff Epstein is an Operating Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, based in their Silicon Valley office. He specializes in working with chief executive officers (CEOs) and chief financial officers (CFOs) of portfolio companies to implement best practices. He leads the Bessemer CFO Advisory Board, which facilitates collaboration among over 100 CFOs from various companies to enhance their effectiveness and performance.135
Before joining Bessemer in 2011, Epstein served as the Executive Vice President and CFO of Oracle, a leading technology company with a market value exceeding $150 billion. His previous roles include CFO positions at DoubleClick (acquired by Google), King World Productions (acquired by CBS), and Nielsen’s Media Measurement and Information Group. He began his career as an investment banker at The First Boston Corporation.123
In addition to his role at Bessemer, Epstein is a lecturer at Stanford University, where he co-teaches the Lean Launchpad class and the CFO Leadership class. He holds an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a BA from Yale College, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.146
Epstein also serves on the boards of several organizations, including Kaiser Permanente, Twilio, and Shutterstock, and has been involved with Booking Holdings for 16 years, during which the company's market value grew significantly.35
