Jeanette Contreras is a seasoned public policy professional with a strong background in legislative affairs and strategic communications focusing on biomedical research, health equity, and healthcare reform.

With a Master's degree in Public Policy from American University, a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from California State University-Los Angeles, and a Certificate in Legislative Studies from Georgetown University, Jeanette has a solid academic foundation.

Throughout her career, she has held pivotal roles such as Director of Health Policy at the National Consumers League (NCL), Manager of Strategic Advocacy Communications at the American Academy of Family Physicians, and Senior Advisor at the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.

Jeanette Contreras has a wealth of experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders including healthcare providers, professional societies, trade associations, patient advocates, and consumer advocates to address the needs of underserved communities.

Her professional journey includes positions such as Senior Public Affairs Official at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Public Health Advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Legislative Analyst at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and Management & Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Jeanette also enriched her experience as a Congressional Fellow at The Leon & Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy, further honing her understanding of legislative processes and policy development.
