Jay Rainey

Jay Rainey is a seasoned full-stack software engineer and UX researcher with a focus on designing and developing digital prototypes for next-generation AI experiences in the realms of Human-Centered AI and digital health.

With a background in postdoctoral research and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Newcastle University, as well as an MRes in Digital Civics, Human-Computer Interaction, and BSc in Computer Science with industrial placement from Cardiff University, Jay possesses a wealth of academic knowledge and practical experience.

Throughout his career, Jay has worked with prestigious organizations such as Samsung Electronics, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, International Computer Science Institute, and various roles at both Newcastle University and Cardiff University.

His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including wireframing, user research, prototype development for mobile and web platforms, evaluation of sensing devices in clinical trials, ETL data pipelines, qualitative and design methods for digital system evaluation, and more.
