Jay Horton

Jay Horton is a highly experienced Senior Director of Nursing for Palliative Care and the former Director of the Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner Fellowship Program at Phillips School of Nursing at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

His educational background includes a Fellowship in Palliative Care from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, an MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner from Yale School of Nursing, an MPH in Health Policy and Administration from Yale School of Public Health, a PhD in Nursing from New York University, and a BS/BA in Microbiology/Philosophy from the University of Iowa.

Throughout his career, Jay has held various key positions in prestigious organizations such as Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, The Mount Sinai Hospital, and Columbia University.

His roles have included Director of Nursing Safety, Quality, and Performance Improvement, Clinical Program Manager for Palliative Nursing and Quality Improvement, Clinical Instructor, Director of Palliative Care Consult Service, and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner.

Jay Horton has also contributed to academia as an Assistant and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University and an Assistant Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
