Javier Galán

Javier Checa Galán is an experienced economic journalist and a passionate professional in corporate communication. With a background that includes working for renowned media outlets like El Confidencial, El Economista, and Cadena SER, as well as major companies like Santander and ING, he currently serves as the Director of Communication at Openbank, the fully digital bank of Grupo Santander.

Javier's educational journey includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance from IEB, a Master's degree in Financial Advisory from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (U.N.E.D.), and a Postgraduate diploma in digital marketing from OBS Business School. He also holds Bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Throughout his career, Javier has held key roles such as Director of Communication at Openbank, Corporate Communications Manager at Banco Santander, Corporate Marketing & Communications Manager at ING Spain & Portugal, Senior Content Manager at ING Spain & Portugal, Senior Communications Manager at Roman, and various editorial positions at leading news organizations like El Confidencial, El Economista, Cadena SER, and Vocento.
