Jason McCool
Jason McCool comes from a long line of people who have been asked, "Is that your real last name?"
Jason McCool is a multifaceted professional with a diverse background encompassing music, academia, arts advocacy, and entertainment. With a strong educational foundation including a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Trumpet Performance from Eastman School of Music, a Master's degree in Historical Musicology from the University of Maryland College Park, and ABD status in Historical Musicology from Boston University, Jason has a deep knowledge of music history and performance.
He has worn many hats throughout his career, having served as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Boston College, Head of Arts & Culture, and Arts & Culture Liaison at Aeronaut Brewing Company, as well as being a member of the Leadership Council at MASSCreative. His experience also includes roles such as a Teaching Fellow at Boston University, a Pre-concert Lecturer at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, an Adjunct Professor of Music at Montgomery College, and an Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Prince George's Community College. Jason has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Maryland and as a Musicological Consultant for various freelance projects.
In addition to his academic and advocacy roles, Jason has a rich performance background, having played trumpet and served as a vocalist for esteemed ensembles such as the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines band, the Henry Mancini Institute, and the Disney All-American College Marching Band. This diverse performance experience has honed his skills as a classical music evangelist, composer, and public speaker, making him a versatile and engaging presence in the arts and music community.
