Jason Matusow
Jason Matusow is the General Manager of Corporate Standards at Microsoft, where he leads a team responsible for the company’s strategy and engagement in international standards organizations. His work focuses on ensuring accountability in the responsible use of technology, including areas like privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and IT governance. He oversees technical diplomacy efforts and manages compliance with compulsory standards for Microsoft products and services globally, including in China.13
Matusow has been with Microsoft since 1995 and has held various roles, including leading the Shared Source initiative and serving as a spokesperson on open source software. He has extensive experience in standardization strategies and has contributed to global discussions on interoperability and emerging technologies. Additionally, he has served as an executive sponsor for Microsoft's relationship with the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).12
A graduate of Boston University, Matusow is also known for his public speaking engagements at industry events, his published works in academic journals, and his leadership roles in standardization policy committees. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon, with his family.12
