Jason Butler

Jason Butler is an Electrical Engineer with over twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in onshore electrical field and office engineering for various clients including mining oil sands and Utilities.

As the Superintendent of electrical and instrumentation at Canadian Natural Albian Sands, Jason managed a team of 10 team leads and 102 E/I employees, focusing on plant reliability and continuous improvement.

He also served as the project/operation electrical technical authority for Shell PTP organization in Calgary, AB, supporting the development of tailing and infrastructure for Heavy Oil, with experience in various facility development, design, construction, and operation.

Jason's educational background includes diplomas in Electrical Engineering Technologist and Electrical Engineering Technician from Radio College of Canada, a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Lakehead University, and certificates in Distribution system engineering and Electric machines and motor drives from the University of Waterloo.

He has held various positions in organizations such as LNG Canada, Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), Shell, Bantrel Edmonton, Colt WorleyParsons, Syncrude Canada Ltd., Pentair Thermal Management, and Sable Mary Seismic (SMS) / Geophysical Service Incorporated (GSI).
