Janice Mawson is a seasoned professional with decades of experience in venture capital, risk management, and non-profit consulting. She's currently the Managing Director of the Global Corporate Venturing Leadership Society, an exclusive organization that brings together top-tier Corporate Venture Capitalists (CVCs) worldwide to promote innovation, professional development, and next-generation leadership in the industry. Janice's role involves fostering strong relationships among investors, entrepreneurs, and the start-up ecosystem to advance the CVC community's goals.
Before joining the Society, Janice served as Vice President for the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), where she oversaw business development activities, membership, and services for top-quartile venture capitalists. Her work at the NVCA gave her a deep understanding of the start-up ecosystem and invaluable connections with venture capital firms globally.
In addition to her work in venture capital, Janice has extensive experience in risk management and non-profit consulting. She worked for many not-for-profit organizations, including the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, where she provided consulting services in risk management and non-dues revenue growth. Alongside her professional experience, Janice is also passionate about music, health, and wellness, and Greyhound fostering and adoption programs.
Janice holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter degree from the Insurance Institute of America, specializing in risk assessment and management. She's a guest lecturer for various organizations, including the American Bar Association, National Association of Remodeling Industry, and American Society of Association Executives. She's also the co-founder of Trinity Community Garden, an educational initiative that provides produce to immigrant workers and local emergency food programs.
