Janet Cherry

Janet Cherry is a highly accomplished academic and researcher with a diverse background in political sociology and economic history.

She holds a PhD in Political Sociology from Rhodes University and a MA in Economic History from the University of Cape Town.

Currently, Janet Cherry serves as a Professor and Head of Department at Nelson Mandela University, where she contributes significantly to the field of sociology.

Throughout her career, Janet has held various prominent roles including being a Research associate at NMMU, an Academic Adviser at the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict, and a Trainer at the Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategy.
