Responsible for conducting complete store audits for 35 stores in Houston / Austin.  Operations reviewed during the complete store audits include receiving, warehouse, scanning, front end and courtesy booth.  Additional responsibilities include monitoring store preparation for quarterly inventories and conducting audits on the day of inventory.  All audit results are reported to store management, operations supervision and senior staff in written format.

Audits conducted include: cash verification; reported balance validation; procedure compliance; front end operations; and, targeted audits to identify detail errors or employee theft.  Prepare written audit reports for supervision, senior management, loss prevention investigators and law enforcement (employee theft, robberies, etc.).  Develop and implement controls, procedures, processes and reporting methods that reduce cash losses.  Maintain audit schedule, reports and detail records for retail stores.

Provided on the job training for cash office personnel.  Evaluated skills of trainees and made recommendations for additional training or job advancement.  Facilitated group training classes at the corporate office and in retail stores.  Coordinated cash office support for grand opening locations.

Began my career with Minyard as a part time checker in April of '87.  Promoted to receiving clerk in June of '87.  Promoted to service cashier in August of '87.  Promoted to office cashier in Spring of '88.  Promoted to lead office cashier in '90.  Majority of retail experience is in the cash office.  Duties included: check cashing; money order sales; Western Union money transfers; checker till reconciliation; office balancing; payroll processing; training office cashiers; and, managing cash office operations.
