Perform Program/Project Management/ Cross functional Team alignment functions for key initiatives in the Supplier Materials and Technology (SMT) Group. SMT is a global organization that innovates in manufacturing technology, materials technology, and supply chain design by developing suppliers to meet Lam’s quality, delivery, and total cost requirements for next generation semiconductor process equipment. 

Interface with key teams within Lam including technical product groups and global operations as a representative of SMT.
Provide leadership to supplier engineers within global commodity space as a cross functional team leader
Teach and provide Technical problem solving skills- manage and solve technical problems related but not limited to plastics manufacturing, fluid handling equipment, manufacturing quality and engineering design both at suppliers and internal.
Managing suppliers both for producing quality products using Lam systems and developing new technologies enabling technical differentiation.
Organizing and owning internal and external Review Meetings
Presentations/communications to senior executives internal and external to SMT.

Engineering Manager, Research & Development

Senior Program Manager responsible for development and delivery of new consumer products (power tools, and lawn and garden equipment) managing a global cross-function team from initial concept thru Marketing Research, Industrial Design, Product Development, supplier selection and supplier sourcing, manufacturing, quality, production capacity planning, production start-up at our Asian manufacturing facilities or sourced product suppliers (China and Taiwan) thru to retailer commercial launches. I have responsibilities for development of full product and packaging, marketing liaison from focus groups thru to retailer sales presentation support, maintaining the teams timeline, and program financial responsibility for budgets exceeding $3 Million USD. I am responsible to ensure that the new products are CSA, ETL, TUV or UL compliant and will be reliable and safe, and for maintaining QS9000 document control from concept to program launch as per internal and legal processes. I am in the process of being awarded several US and European patents, and responsible to ensure newly developed products do not infringe on other existing patents.

The horizontal drive and sound quality specialist for the division . Held a variety of roles in Product and Advanced Engineering including being the leader of designers in Canada , Sweden, and France to develop validate and produce automotive seat structure systems including seat adjustment and structural seatbelt attachment systems. I held responsibilities for development of system design including component interfaces and material selection using CATIA V4 and V5, Unigraphics, and I.DEAS C3P, maintaining the teams timeline, and quoting to customer creation with an accounting team, supervision and interpreting of FEA results and GD&T tolerance analysis, sourcing components, liaison with OEM, Tier I and II customers, internal and external manufacturing, FMVSS, CSA and UL required testing and validation and maintaining QS9000 document control from concept to program launch as per APQP processes. Technologies applied are metal stampings, metal roll forming, welding, and injected moulded plastics and zinc & powered metal, and a working knowledge of electrical motors and gear selection, design and optimisation. I was in the leading role of being the company’s division Sound Quality Engineer. I was also the individual responsible for SR & ED Federal Tax Credits (R&D Tax Credits).

I was involved in Product Design and Development of automotive exterior accessories using SDRC I.DEAS 3D solid modelling and surfacing. I had responsibilities in a team environment for complete development of system design including prototype development and presentation, component interfaces and materials, FEA and tolerance analysis, sourcing components, liaison with Tier I and II customers – primarily Asian manufacturers, internal manufacturing, internal DVP&R creation and systems testing supervision, external fabrication and part supplier companies, packaging design to ISTA standards, technical writing and QS9000 document control from concept to program launch such as DFMEA’s, DFM/A, Design Review documents, etc. Post launch I had responsibilities for continuous improvements and cost reductions on an ongoing basis.
