Jamie McGann is the Co-Founder of MoveAhead, a project focused on Moving Children in the Digital World. With a background in elementary education and a multidisciplinary Ph.D. in computer science and motor control from Trinity College, Dublin, Jamie is dedicated to designing digital experiences that enhance children's motor skills.
Jamie's research interests revolve around motor and cognitive development in childhood, with a keen focus on educational technology (EdTech). Their expertise includes motion control, body tracking, movement analysis, machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and personalization, all while prioritizing data privacy.
Education has been a cornerstone of Jamie's journey, having pursued degrees at prestigious institutions like Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin. They hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), a Master's degree, an H.Dip in Primary Education from Hibernia College, and a Bachelor of Music from University College Dublin.
Throughout their career, Jamie McGann has been actively involved in various organizations. Besides being the Co-Founder of MoveAhead, they have served as a Senior Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Researcher at Dublin City University and the Adapt Centre. Prior to their research roles, Jamie was a Ph.D. student at Trinity College Dublin and a Primary School Teacher at Saint Ultans.
