Jamie Jones

Jamie Jones is the Vice President of Field Services and Technical Partnerships at GitHub, a role he has held since November 2021. He is based in Alexandria, Virginia, and oversees a global team of over 130 personnel focused on customer-facing technical pre-sales and partnerships. His responsibilities include leading the Field Services team, which aims to provide trusted technical advisory services to enhance understanding of modern software development practices among GitHub’s customers.

The Field Services team at GitHub is divided into four specialties:

• Solutions Engineers: They assist customers during their buying journey by sharing best practices in areas such as version control and secure development.

• Technical Specialists: These experts focus on software security and workflow automation, working across regional teams to drive customer success.

• Field Product Directors: They collaborate with customer leadership to develop solutions and lead internal product and engineering efforts.

• Business Value Engineers: They help prospective customers understand the impact of GitHub on their corporate priorities through assessment and analysis.

Additionally, Jamie leads the technical partnership team, which advocates for partner integration needs and connects technical solutions to the GitHub platform, fostering beneficial scenarios for partners and users alike.123

Before joining GitHub, Jamie has been involved in various initiatives, including serving as a board member for the Finos foundation, where he helps promote open-source participation within the financial services sector.1
