Jamie Cleland is the Co-Founder and CTO of Upshot Ventures, a consultancy specializing in turbomachinery, advanced materials engineering, propulsion startup incubation, and product development.

With over 2 decades of experience in the aerospace and defense industries, Jamie is a Materials and Processes Expert and Team Leader known for his focus on high performance, reliability, and quality.

Starting from managing technology development programs to leading new team establishment and management, Jamie has a proven track record of success.

His previous roles include Manager and Materials Engineer at Blue Origin, Consultant at Ursa Major Technologies and multiple other companies, Contractor at Stratolaunch, Engineering Specialist at Aerojet, Sr. Engineer at Raytheon, and Materials Engineer at Boeing.

Jamie's passion lies in the successful application of cutting-edge material and process technology throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing, a passion that ignited during his high school years and has only grown stronger through his professional journey.

He holds a B.S. in Materials Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
