James Zhang

James Zhang is a highly accomplished co-founder and CTO of The Bright App, boasting a remarkable 15-year career as a serial technology entrepreneur.

With a track record of successfully launching over 40 mobile & web apps, James started his entrepreneurial journey at just 25 by co-founding his first start-up, eventually leading to a successful acquisition by Zynga in 2008.

Subsequently, James went on to establish multiple ventures, including Joyride, which caught the eye of tech giant Google and was acquired in 2015.

In 2019, James collaborated with Nerissa Zhang to launch The Bright App, showcasing his unwavering commitment to innovation and technology.

Before founding The Bright App, James honed his expertise as a tech lead at prominent tech companies such as YouTube and Google, playing a pivotal role in developing code that now powers billions of mobile devices worldwide.

James pursued higher education at renowned institutions, holding a Master of Science (MS) degree from UC Berkeley, a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the same institution.

Throughout his illustrious career, James has held key positions in various organizations, including serving as the CTO at The Bright App, Co-Owner at Golden State Barbell Club, Senior Software Engineer at YouTube and Google, Co-Founder & CTO at Joyride, Inc, and Co-Founder & Chief Software Architect at Aftershock Innovations, Inc.
