James Wise

James Wise is a seasoned college professor transitioning to a new role at Chowan University in North Carolina.

With a background in biology, including a B.A. from Macalester College and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago, he brings a wealth of expertise to his new position.

While semi-retired, James is actively engaged in freelance science writing, editing, and reviewing, a passion that he has cultivated over the past several years and is eager to delve into more deeply.

As a member of reputable organizations such as the National Association of Science Writers and the American Medical Writers Association, James is well-connected within the scientific writing community.

Prior to his current role, James has held positions such as Adjunct Professor of Biology at Chowan University, Freelance Writer/Editor at OpenStax College, and Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Hampton University.
