    James Wang

    Physician Informaticist

    Dr. James Wang is a Board-Eligible Physician Informaticist with a fellowship in clinical informatics from the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. His focus lies in utilizing data-driven techniques to enhance patient care quality and efficiency, along with improving the overall patient experience. Dr. Wang's interests also extend to applied informatics areas like natural language processing and machine learning in medical education. He actively participates in the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG), where he holds the position of Vice Chair of the Trainee Committee and contributes to the Big Data Task Force. Board Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Wang continues to engage with patients in the ambulatory setting.

    Dr. Wang's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, a Master's degree from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Southern California. He also pursued studies at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.

    Throughout his career, Dr. Wang has been associated with various organizations and roles. He served as a Fee Basis Physician in Primary Care at the WEST LOS ANGELES VA MEDICAL CENTER. Additionally, he held positions such as Vice Chair and member of the Trainee Committee, Membership Committee, Big Data Task Force, and Clinical Instructor at the North American Primary Care Research Group. In the past, Dr. Wang was a Clinical Informatics Fellow at Banner Health and was involved in diverse roles at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, including Chief Resident and Clinical Communication Committee Leader.

    Dr. Wang's professional journey also includes engagements in editorial advisory boards, residency education symposium planning, and representation on boards and committees related to family medicine and community health initiatives. He has formerly been part of projects such as CHIP Annual Community Health Fair at USC and has played roles ranging from President/CEO to Program Director and Finance Committee member at the Community Health Involvement Project.
