James Smith-Dingler

James Smith-Dingler is a clean energy and sustainability leader with an MBA from Harvard Business School and a background in management consulting.1 He currently serves as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, a position he has held since June 2022.1

James has expertise in strategic planning, business transformations, power generation/wholesale electricity markets, and sustainability (decarbonization, climate adaptation).1 He has advised utilities, investors, companies, local governments, and NGOs on topics spanning finance, marketing and sales, operations, strategy, environmental sustainability, and post-merger integration.1

James holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with highest distinction.1 He also completed a minor in Economics at Duke University.1
