James McKissic

James McKissic is the President of ArtsBuild, a nonprofit organization based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts within the community. He assumed this role on December 16, 2019, and has over two decades of experience in community engagement and arts promotion.24

Under his leadership, ArtsBuild focuses on enhancing access to the arts for all residents, fostering a vibrant cultural scene, and advocating for arts education and economic development through the arts.14 McKissic is particularly passionate about using the arts as a means to effect positive change in people's lives, emphasizing that his mission is "more art, to more people, in more places".4
