James Higgins

James Higgins is a Founding Partner at Chenmark Capital Management, LLC, a holding company that acquires and operates small businesses for the long term.13 He co-founded Chenmark in 2015 along with his brother Palmer Higgins and his wife Trish Higgins.14

Prior to founding Chenmark, James worked on Wall Street, including stints at various hedge funds and Barclays Capital.3 He graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in history.3

Chenmark focuses on acquiring small-to-medium sized businesses with consistent profitability, high recurring revenue, and strong local market presence.2 As of January 2020, Chenmark had 450 employees across 7 platform businesses and had completed approximately 30 acquisitions.1

James lives in Cumberland, Maine with his wife Trish and their two young children.3 He and his partners are known for their "extreme delayed gratification muscle," which allows them to focus on long-term value creation through compounding returns on their business investments.1
