James Garnett

James Garnett is an accomplished professional with a strong background in Cell Physiology and Biomedical Sciences.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cell Physiology from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and a BSc Hons in Biomedical Sciences (Physiology) with First Class honors from the University of Aberdeen.

Currently, James serves as the Early Respiratory Portfolio Coordinator and Head of Respiratory Epithelia Lab at Boehringer Ingelheim, where he leads and coordinates various respiratory projects.

Previously, he held positions such as Associate Lecturer & Medical Research Foundation Fellow at Newcastle University, Head of Respiratory Epithelial Barrier Research Laboratory at Boehringer Ingelheim, Visiting Research Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Faculty Research Fellow at Newcastle University.

Moreover, James has a rich research background, including roles as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at St George's, University of London and Visiting Research Fellow at both Newcastle University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

His expertise and experience span across academia and industry, contributing significantly to the fields of respiratory physiology, epithelial barriers, and respiratory healthcare research.
