James Moody
Founder and CEO, Sendle
James Chin Moody is the co-founder and CEO of Sendle, an eco-friendly shipping company that focuses on supporting small businesses with simple, reliable, and affordable package delivery while being the only 100% Carbon Neutral Delivery Service in Australia and the United States.
With a diverse background, James has held various senior executive and board member positions, including being part of the Executive team at CSIRO, Australia's national research agency, where he oversaw business development, government relations, international development, and strategic foresight.
James has served on Advisory Boards for renowned companies like Westpac Bank and General Electric and government boards such as the National Australia Day Council, Australian Bureau of Meteorology, and the Australia Indonesia Institute. He has also contributed as an Australian National Commissioner for UNESCO and a Trustee for the Australian Museum.
An expert in innovation, sustainability, and the circular economy, James co-authored 'The Sixth Wave: How to Succeed in a Resource-Limited World' and has been a regular panelist and judge on the ABC TV program 'The New Inventors'. He has also been actively involved with the World Economic Forum's Global Councils, serving as Co-Chair of the Global Future Council on Digital Economy and Society and Vice-Chair of the Global Agenda Council on Intellectual Property.
James is highly educated, holding a PhD in innovation theory from the Australian National University, a Bachelor of Engineering (University Medal) and Bachelor of Information Technology (First Class Honours) from Queensland University of Technology, and a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Monash University. He is recognized for his professional achievements, being named one of Australia's Top 100 Most Influential Engineers, a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, AFR Boss Magazine Young Executive of the Year, and Young Australian of the Year in Science and Technology.
Additionally, James has pursued further education in Leadership for Racial Equity at the University of Virginia, Global Leadership and Public Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School, and gained a Diploma in Company Directorship from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
James has been associated with various organizations throughout his career, including founding and leading Sendle, serving on World Economic Forum councils, authoring publications, and holding key roles at CSIRO, ABC, and other reputable institutions.
