James Burke

James Burke is a visual artist, creative director, and entrepreneur based in Shoreditch, London.

As the Founder and Creative Director of Acrylicize, an international multidisciplinary creative studio in London and Seattle, James utilizes a variety of media to create art exploring themes of identity and the relationship between art and the commercial world.

His philosophy revolves around challenging art's reliance on traditional gallery settings by focusing on accessibility and connecting people with their surroundings. James' work spans across disciplines such as fine art, graphic design, interior design, and architecture, often delving into themes of art as a commodity.

James Burke recently revealed a large-scale permanent public artwork called In Anticipation in Shoreditch. Additionally, his art has been exhibited at prestigious venues like the Royal Academy of Arts, including the 250th Summer exhibition curated by Grayson Perry. Noteworthy projects include the Lego Mini Figure series, which has gained international recognition for its satirical take on western society using Lego characters.
