Jamal Batar

Jamal Batar is an accomplished renewable energy developer with a wealth of experience in the industry. He has successfully overseen the development of more than 200 MW of solar and 300 MWhr of energy storage systems. Jamal possesses a strong understanding of intricate interconnection processes and excels at identifying constraints and estimating utility upgrade costs. Currently, Jamal holds the position of Sr. Project Development Manager at Distributed Solar Development, where he specializes in community solar projects and mergers and acquisitions. In his role, he leads all site selection and development activities, performs due diligence on M&A ventures, and issues Notice to Proceed (NTP) upon securing necessary permits and approvals. With a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, Jamal is a proficient program and project management professional.
