Jakob Cirell is the Owner and Operator of From The Ground Brewery, a New York State Farm Brewery located on Migliorelli Farm in Red Hook, NY. He is not only the founder but also the primary brewer, channeling his passion for brewing and business management into the operation of the brewery, which emphasizes using locally sourced ingredients.1

Background

Jakob grew up in central Maine in an off-grid farmhouse with his family, which included his parents and five siblings. This upbringing instilled in him a strong appreciation for simplicity and hard work. At 18, he pursued higher education at the University of Maine, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After college, he initially worked as a mechanical engineer in New York City before transitioning to brewing.12

From The Ground Brewery

Founded with a commitment to local agriculture, From The Ground Brewery utilizes ingredients grown within a five-mile radius of its location, including barley from Migliorelli Farm and hops from various New York farms. The brewery operates on a small scale, brewing in batches of 155 gallons, which allows for meticulous attention to quality.13
