Jake Pinholster

Jake Pinholster is an accomplished educator, experimenter, and explorer known for bringing unconventional ideas to life through leading multi-disciplinary teams.
He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic & Lighting Design from the University of Florida, where he also completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Production.
Having a diverse background, Jake has held various positions in prestigious organizations, including executive roles at ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
He served as the Executive Dean of Enterprise Design at ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts and was the Founding Director of the Media and Immersive eXperience (MIX) Center at Arizona State University.
Besides his administrative roles, Jake has been involved in academia as an Associate Professor of Performance Design, where he collaborated across film, dance, and theatre disciplines.
Prior to his career in higher education, Jake held significant positions such as being the Principal Designer, President, and CEO of Mental Image Design and working as a Design Associate at the Lincoln Center Directors Laboratory.
His experiences also include roles as a Production Manager at Live Design International, an Associate Artist at Les Freres Corbusier, and a Freelance Video Technician at Scharff Weisberg among others.
Throughout his career, Jake Pinholster has showcased his expertise in media design, theatre-making, art/science collaboration, and higher education administration.
