Jake Mendel

Jake Mendel is the Director of the Startup Banking Crypto Practice at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), a role he has held since June 2022. He co-founded this specialized team to support early-stage, venture-backed companies in the digital asset space, focusing on pre-Series A startups. Prior to this position, he led the Relationship Management team for SVB's Startup Banking in New York City, where he was involved in guiding numerous startups through their early growth phases, including fundraising and operational scaling.12

Mendel's career at SVB began in 2017, and he has since progressed through various roles, including Senior Vice President and Vice President within the Startup Banking division. His background includes operational experience in early-stage companies across sectors such as biotech, retail, and enterprise software. He also contributed to SVB's R&D division, focusing on customer discovery initiatives.12

Educationally, Jake Mendel holds an MBA with a focus on New Venture Creation and Innovation Economies, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Economics, and Entrepreneurship, both from The Ohio State University.12
