Jake Elder is a dedicated professional focusing on advancing climate-smart infrastructure projects in global cities. Currently serving as a Senior Lead at Bloomberg Associates Sustainability Practice, he offers guidance to mayors and city officials on initiatives that drive local investments, enhance quality of life, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Jake excels in assisting cities to utilize data analysis and engage stakeholders in transitioning to clean energy, constructing new infrastructure to enhance residents' well-being, and implementing policies to address the challenges of climate change. He has been instrumental in projects such as launching a tree-planting campaign in Nashville, devising a greenhouse gas reduction strategy in Oakland, and planning sustainable energy grid reconstruction in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
As a respected authority on urban sustainability and infrastructure, Jake has co-authored numerous white papers and participated in various city advisory boards. He actively contributes to Bloomberg Philanthropies initiatives, including the American Cities Climate Challenge and hurricane recovery efforts in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
With profound knowledge in global public policy development and implementation, Jake has advised more than 50 public sector clients across Europe, North America, and Latin America. Coming from Accenture's Public Service Strategy Practice, he collaborated with officials from state and local governments, higher education institutions, and non-profits.
Jake Elder holds a Master of Science degree in Cities from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Trinity College-Hartford.
